Ramadan 2017 Goals
Ramadan is already almost here, we only have about 2 weeks left until it starts. I have begun writing out my plan and goals for this upcoming Ramadan and hope to complete most of it before the month is out. My main goal is to read the whole Qur'an throughout this month. I might also try to read the meaning for some parts of it. My second goal will be to memorize Surah Yaseen. In addition to memorizing it, I will follow the tafsir that Br. Nouman Ali Khan did on that surah. My third goal will be to finish one of Br. Omar Suleiman's series. One particular series that I am interested in is the Mother of the Believers one. In that series, he talks about the lives and characteristics of each of the Prophet's (saw) wives . I hope to stick to and follow those 3 goals I have planned for this Ramadan and might continue to add to my list later on.

What I'm Looking Foward To
Last Ramadan, I feel that I came up short in terms of my goals and improving myself as a Muslim. I hope to learn from the mistakes I made then and am excited to fully utilize the benefits of Ramadan this year to push my limits and become a better Muslim. I look forward to the peaceful atmosphere of Ramadan that seems to make it easier for me to fast throughout the day, pray taraweeh at night, and fill the day with ibadah. I would like to work on decreasing my bad habits and increasing the amount of ibadah I do and by making a strict schedule and abiding by it, I hope to minimize wasted time and accomplish these goals this year. There is only one Ramadan per year, and we never know whether we will live till next year's, so we must make the most out of each Ramadan that Allah blesses us with.

A New Ramadan, A New Start
This is such an exciting time of the year with Ramadan on the horizon. It's hard to imagine another Ramadan is already almost upon us, another month full of enormous blessings and rewards for us to take advantage of.
Every Ramadan is an opportunity for all Muslims to aim for self-improvement. Each of us has a different struggle, something different we want to change in ourselves. Ultimately, however, becoming closer to Allah is our shared goal, whether it's through reading extra Qur'an or trying to stay away from negative habits.
This Ramadan, let's all work together to achieve our goals. With encouragement from our friends and the blessings of Ramadan, we can reach our greatest spiritual highs ever, insha Allah!
What are your goals for this Ramadan? What steps do you plan to take to achieve this goal?
